Kobe Passes Jordan
December 14, 2014 Kobe “The Black Mamba” Bryant added another impressive milestone to his already historic NBA career. He surpassed Michael Jordan for 3rd on the NBA all-time scoring list in a 100–94 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. At the age of 36, Kobe Bryant has played 1,269 games to reached 32,310 points.
Comparing Kobe Bryant to NBA legend Michael “Air” Jordan is nothing new in conversations about NBA basketball. Many agree that Kobe Bryant is the closet to Michael Jordan from a skill standpoint. They play the shooting guard position; have similar-looking games, similar body type, and possess a killer instinct to win at all costs. Also wore similar jersey numbers (Michael Jordan wore #23 and Kobe Bryant wore #24 at the start of the 2006–07 NBA season to the present). They are forever link in the NBA world!
Michael Jordan congratulated Kobe Bryant on social media:
“I congratulate Kobe on reaching this milestone. He’s obviously a great player, with a strong work ethic and has an equally strong passion for the game of basketball. I’ve enjoyed watching his game evolve over the years, and I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.”
As an NBA fan, Kobe’s latest accomplishment is very special. He rarely disappoints me whenever I watch him play basketball. I marvel and pay homage to the greatness of Kobe Bryant because of the hard work he puts in perfecting his craft. He never cheated the game of basketball with his effort. Kobe Bryant is the reason why I’ll watch the LA Lakers.
Kobe Bryant surpassing Michael Jordan should not be taken as an indication that he has been a better basketball player than Jordan. Rather, it should be taken that Kobe Bryant is the greatest basketball player of his generation. He has been the top NBA player of the 2000s. I wonder what he is going to accomplish next in his career.
