The Lakers still hold the record for NBA’s longest winning streak of 33 straight games that was set during the 1972 NBA season.

“Magic” Johnson

Magic Johnson

Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Jr. was the face and superstar player of the “Showtime” LA Lakers in the 1980s. Most considered him the greatest Laker of all-time. Magic Johnson was so great that in Game 6 of the 1980 NBA Finals, he recorded 42 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals in a 123–107 win, while playing guard, forward, and center at different times during the game. Johnson became the only rookie to win the NBA Finals MVP award, and his clutch performance is still regarded as one of the finest in NBA history.
