“I always dreamed about playing in New York and what that would’ve been like. It’s true. As a fan, the Garden was the historical arena. It’s the last one left.” – Kobe Bryant

Five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant spent all 20 seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, but that doesn’t mean that the iconic NBA legend didn’t imagine himself playing elsewhere. In a recent question-and-answer session with Frank Isola of The Athletic, Kobe Bryant admitted that he would’ve liked to play in New York City and call Madison Square Garden home.

“I always wanted to be a part of that history and play in it.” Kobe says. “So, New York was a team … it would have been pretty good to play in that city.”

Suffering Knicks fans can only imagine what Kobe Bryant would’ve done with the New York Knicks. He could’ve been able to lead the Knickbockers to multiple championships, making them a dynasty, and in the process becoming the king of New York. Also, making a strong argument of being greater than his muse, Michael Jordan.
