“By the time LeBron hits 38, He’ll be The All-Time Leader In NBA Points Scored.” – Shannon Sharpe.

Last night, LeBron “King” James added another milestone to his impressive NBA career. With a mid-range fadeaway bucket, he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, breaking a 39-year-old record with his 36th point of the night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The basketball game halted to allow LeBron James to savor his historical moment. The moment was magical and felt like a scene from a Hollywood movie.

Amid the bedlam and a sea of cameras, LeBron James’ family – his wife, two sons, and daughter – came out onto the court to celebrate the occasion with him. The great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was also in attendance and later handed LeBron James the basketball in an official passing of the torch. It was special!

Congratulations to LeBron James! Once again, you proved to the world that you are a great gift to basketball and the culture! Witnessing you and Beyoncé make history in the same week, during Black History Month, is surreal!
